Our eighth challenger. Brisket vs. Kelly Smith.

It was a pre-Christmas workplace celebration when Kelly came in with his co-workers to try the Five Star Five Pound Show Me What You Got Throwdown Challenge (the name is as over the top as the challenge, don’t you think?)

He downed the first 2.5 pound plate in record time~ 17 minutes! The lunch service got very busy after that so we missed getting pictures of the rest of the challenge. We’re sorry to report that halfway through the second plate the meat conquered Kelly. We didn’t see it, but we heard it wasn’t pretty :) 

It was a noble effort, though! Thanks for giving it a shot!

BYU BASKETBALL… it’s even better with BBQ!

It’s true! Come find us at Portal F at the Marriot Center. The next home game dates are~ THURSDAY December 22nd and TUESDAY December 27th at 7pm.

Mike’s Last Day

Today we have to say goodbye to our Kitchen Manager and good friend Mike. He is moving back to his home state and a new opportunity. He has been an amazing asset during our first year of business, helping make JT’s dream of a family run BBQ restaurant a success. We love him just like a brother and we will all miss him like crazy.

If you’ve come in this week, you’ve noticed that things look different around the restaurant.

The soda machine has moved over by the register…

and JT tore out the wall of the former office to give us more space for the long lines we have during the lunch service.

We still need to make it look cool, but it’s fantastic to have some breathing room and no more lines out the door during the winter!
